ENT Consultation and Services at Our Singapore Clinic

Our ENT clinic in Singapore provides consultation, diagnostic evaluation, and management for ear, nose, and throat conditions.

During an ENT consultation, our specialists will review your symptoms, how long they have lasted, previous treatment, and medical history. A physical examination may then be carried out to assess the ears, nasal passages, throat, neck, or other affected areas.

Depending on the symptoms and examination findings, further investigations may be recommended. These can include endoscopic assessment, hearing tests, imaging, or other diagnostic procedures where clinically appropriate.

Our ENT doctors will explain the findings and discuss suitable management options. Treatment may involve medication, monitoring, lifestyle measures, or a surgical procedure. Paediatric ENT consultations are also available, with the assessment adapted to the child’s symptoms, medical history, and clinical needs.

Ear, Nose and Throat Conditions Managed

Our ENT clinic manages a range of ear, nose, and throat conditions affecting both adults and children.

Conditions managed include sinusitis and other sinus-related conditions, allergic rhinitis, hearing loss, ear infections, snoring and sleep-related breathing conditions, and throat disorders.

Patients seeking a sinus specialist in Singapore may consult for assessment and management of sinus conditions.

Paediatric ENT

Common paediatric ENT conditions include ear infections, allergic rhinitis, sinus-related conditions, snoring, and throat disorders. These may present with symptoms such as nasal congestion, hearing concerns, or breathing difficulties during sleep.

An ENT consultation can help assess these symptoms through clinical evaluation and appropriate diagnostic investigations, followed by recommendations based on your child’s condition and needs.

Ear Wax

Ear wax (cerumen) build-up can sometimes lead to symptoms such as muffled hearing, ear discomfort, ringing in the ears, or a sensation of blockage.

An ENT specialist can help determine the extent of the build-up and whether removal is appropriate. Depending on the clinical findings, ear wax removal may be performed using suction or other suitable methods under visual guidance.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Obstructive sleep apnea occurs when the airway repeatedly narrows or becomes blocked during sleep due to relaxation of the throat muscles. As these episodes happen during sleep, many individuals may not realise they are experiencing breathing interruptions.

Symptoms may include loud snoring, excessive daytime tiredness, poor sleep quality, and difficulty concentrating. Assessment at an ENT clinic may help identify underlying airway obstruction and determine appropriate management options based on the severity of the condition.

Sinusitis

Sinusitis may occur due to infection or underlying conditions such as allergies. It affects the sinuses, which are air-filled spaces within the bones surrounding the nose.

Symptoms may include nasal congestion, facial pressure, and nasal discharge. Visit an ENT doctor to assess the underlying cause of your sinus symptoms and receive appropriate management treatment based on your condition.

Allergic Rhinitis

Allergic rhinitis is a condition commonly associated with environmental triggers such as dust mites, pollen, or humidity. It may cause symptoms including nasal congestion, sneezing, itchy nose, and a runny nose.

Symptoms may be more frequently observed in children and can vary in severity depending on allergen exposure. An ENT consultation can help identify potential triggers and assess suitable management options for persistent, recurring symptoms.

Investigations Where Clinically Indicated

Further investigations may be recommended when more information is needed to confirm a diagnosis or assess the extent of a condition. Surgical management may be discussed when symptoms persist, a structural problem is identified, or medical treatment has not provided sufficient improvement.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from my first visit to an ear nose throat specialist in Singapore?

When you visit our ENT clinic, your doctor or surgeon will first take a look at your medical history and find out more about the symptoms you’re experiencing. They may conduct a quick examination by feeling behind your ears and along your neck and jawline, looking into your ears, mouth, and nose with a small light. A non-invasive, nasal endoscope may also be done to look at your sinus cavity. There is no special preparation required for a nasal endoscope. A diagnosis will be made, or your ENT specialist will schedule a few follow-up tests to get a clearer report of your condition. Your issues will be addressed and a suitable treatment plan devised for you.

How do I prepare my child for the first visit to the Ear Nose Throat (ENT) clinic?

Always talk to your child to prepare them for their ENT visit. Find out more about the issues they’re experiencing so that you can assist them in helping the ENT doctor or surgeon understand their condition. Bring along a list of their old medications and a health booklet.

What modes of payment do you accept?

The cost of seeing an ENT specialist in Singapore can vary depending on several factors, including the clinic or hospital, the complexity of the condition, and whether you are seeing a private or public specialist.

For a precise estimate, it’s recommended to contact the specific clinic or hospital directly, as they can provide detailed information based on your individual needs and circumstances.

Can I claim my medical bills through my Medisave account?

Does My Condition Require a Visit to an Ear Nose Throat Specialist?

Visiting an ear nose throat specialist in Singapore promptly is crucial if you are experiencing any symptoms. The ears, nose, and throat are interconnected; thus, a problem in one area may affect the other two.

While some issues may not necessitate a visit to the ear nose throat clinic and can be managed in a primary healthcare setting, certain conditions left untreated can develop into more serious problems or significantly impact your quality of life.

For instance, chronic sinusitis and sleep apnoea are common conditions seen in patients in Singapore that typically require evaluation and detailed examination by an ear nose throat specialist.

If you encounter any problems with your ears, nose, or throat, do visit an ENT clinic.

What types of conditions do ENT surgeons commonly treat?

ENT surgeons commonly treat issues such as chronic sinusitis, sleep apnea, hearing loss, tonsillitis, and nasal obstruction. They also address problems like ear infections and balance disorders. If you’re experiencing symptoms related to these areas, visiting an ENT specialist clinic in Singapore can help ensure you receive the appropriate evaluation and a tailored treatment plan.

Do you see patients referred from Mt Elizabeth Singapore?

Yes, patients who are referred from Mt Elizabeth can arrange a consultation here. You can find more information about the clinic on our About Us page. If you need to book a visit or send referral details, contact us.
